The majority of vitamin supplements sourced over the counter in local pharmacies contain poorly absorbed elemental synthetic vitamins, at low doses. For example, most generic multivitamins contain Folic Acid, the synthetic man made version of essential Folate. Folic Acid cannot be broken down well by those with MTHFR SNPs, this is the most common gene mutation. Cyanocobalamin is commonly used as a form of B12, this is man made and contains a cyanide molecule. Practitioner grade supplements largely opt for Methylcobalamin, a more easily absorbable and natural form of B12, and Calcium Folinate as natural Folate.

For reasons such as these, we only recommend supplements with ingredients we know and trust are actually beneficial for your health. They can be more expensive, but you get your moneys worth. Our library below is a small list of supplements we love.

  • Salvestrol® are a class of natural compounds derived from fruits, herbs, and vegetables. These compounds are not naturally produced by the body and must be obtained through the diet.

    Salvestrols work inside cells that have failed to behave like normal cells. Normal healthy cells stop dividing at the end of a natural life cycle and die, Salvestrols are used as part of the body’s natural cell cycle regulation. Research has shown that the CYP1B1 enzyme appears in unhealthy/damaged cells and is not detectable in healthy cells. The mechanism of Salvestrols is that they are converted by the CYP1B1 enzyme present in unhealthy cells into toxic metabolites which cause regulation of the cell cycle. As the CYP1B1 enzyme is not present in healthy cells Salvestrols exert no effects.
